The Avondhu

First Year’s experiences since September

-

This September, we spoke to all of our new first years to find out why they chose Presentation Secondary School and how they’re enjoying their time so far.

We wanted to hear all of their voices and tell you how they’re settling in.

The results were heartwarming to read and reinforced the pride we have in our school.

All the teachers are so kind, friendly and caring. You will have a great variety of subjects and they are all very interesting!! All the people from the different schools will be so nice and lovely, you will have great fun as well! - Faye Morrissey 1A

I would encourage 6th class pupils to come here as I came here without any of my primary school friends and was very nervous but after some time, I got more and more used to the school as all the teachers were very welcoming and kind. - Ali Fitzgerald 1B

I’d encourage all the 6th class pupils to come to Presentation Mitchelstown because, all the teachers and students are friendly and kind. All teachers are willing to help with work, showing new 1st years where classrooms are and in general have been really kind and helpful within my first month of 1st year! - Lily Barrington 1C

I would encourage 6th class pupils to come because the staff are very welcoming and kind people that if you need something they will help you if you need it. The subjects are an hour long, so you get plenty of time to learn and take down notes on one subject! - Rachel Jones 1C

I am enjoying Pres so much. I am so glad I came here. All of the teachers are really nice and easy to get along with. We have a good canteen with loads of options for reasonable prices. The uniform is really comfortable. I have made friends with everyone in my class. Overall, I am ecstatic that I chose this school because I am having a really lovely time. - Rachel Griffen 1B

I would encourage 6th class to come here next year because this is a very welcoming school full of lovely and friendly teachers. When I started here everyone was really nice and if you were ever lost are confused the 6th and 5th years where always willing to help you . I was also worried I would not make many friends, but I have made many and it was a worry I know I should not have worried about. I remember picking my school was a huge deal. But I am really happy I chose to come to the Presentation - Aine Nugent 1B

There is such a great atmosphere in the school everyone is so nice and friendly, they really care about how you feel and always look out for your wellbeing. - Orna Joy 1A
