The committee would like to welcome everyone to their harvest festival which will be full of activities for both young and old alike. We would encourage everyone in the community to come out and enjoy the many events which have been organised and will take place over the weekend.

The festival will open on Thursday, 26th October with a 45 Drive in Meagher’s Bar at 8.15pm. Are you someone who can deal a hand of 45? A battle in the bar - who will win?

This will be followed on Friday by the ever popular table quiz. Does your knowledge lie in current affairs, politics, geography, history, music or sport. The one and only quizmaster Edward Lynch will be in Meagher’s Bar at 9pm to put your knowledge to the test.

On Saturday, a Children’s Hallowe’en Party will take place in Meagher’s from 3.30pm to 6pm. The party will include children’s disco, fancy dress, party games and treats. There is also a Children’s Pumpkin Carving Competition. The children are asked to carve their pumpkins in advance and bring them along on the day for judging.

On Saturday night the pool sharks will take centre stage in the finals of the Pool Tournament in Meagher’s Bar at 8pm.

Sunday will start with a Harvest Mass in St Mary’s Church at 9.30am. This will be followed by a cake sale in Meagher’s. Come along and have a cuppa and a chat with your friends and neighbours. This is always a lovely community event.

Dance along to an evening of social dancing with DJ Mad Mike from 5pm to 7pm. Mike will have a pep in his step with music from the old time waltz, to slosh to jive and quick step.

The festival will close on Sunday night with music in Meagher’s Bar by DJ Mad Mike. A scary and spooky night guaranteed. Prize for best Hallowe’en costume.

AUTUMNAL FLORAL PRESENTATION COMPETITION

Flower presentations are to be created and left in the church on Saturday, 28th October before 3pm for judging. It is up to each individual to create an Autumnal presentation. The competition is open to children, teenagers and adults. The most creative presentation will win.

HALLOWE’EN SCARECROW COMPETITION

Build and create your own scarecrow which will be displayed in the village over Hallowe’en. Scarecrows are to be dropped to Meagher’s Shop on Sunday, 22nd October at 12pm! Please take note of dates and times for drop off of scarecrows and floral presentations! Donations of home baking for the Cake Sale would be greatly appreciated.
