High demand for Ballylanders calendar gauging by first week of sales

-

A photographic calendar for the Ballylanders region has almost sold out after only 1 week on sale. The stunning 13-page calendar has a collection of photographs donated by local amateur photographers and went on sale last Tuesday morning, October 31st. There are only 76 calendars remaining after being on sale for 1 week.

Organised by local Ballylanders woman, Máiréad O’Donnell, the calendar is being run as an not-for-profit project with all proceeds after costs going to the local Development Association. The association will use the funds to help finish the building in the park which will be a new community facility equipped with a kitchen, toilets and meeting room facilities.

“The response has been incredible,” said Máiréad who is native to the village and a lover of great photography. “We have calendars going all around the world in a couple of weeks. It’s incredible. We’ve sales in from lots of people I don’t even recognise - all people who are living away from Ballylanders but love it as much as we do.”

“We were planning on selling 200, however we’ve already sold 134 and the sales keep coming in,” she said.

WASTE NOT, WANT NOT

The calendar is on pre-sale online only. This means that orders are taken online before printing is done, so only those ordered will be printed.

“If the demand is there we’ll definitely print more but only if they are secured online in the presale first. I have a thing about waste. It’s so unnecessary. This calendar is meant to add even more beauty to our world, not waste.”

And in keeping with the modus of sustainability and reduced waste, the calendar will be printed on paper that is sourced from sustainably managed forests.

Calendars can be ordered on ballylanderscalendar.com before November 17th or you can text 0872070539 and Máiréad will put one away for you. Calendars will be posted internationally on December 1st or will be available for local pick-up on December 3rd.
