Result – Woodlands House Hotel County Junior B Football Championship final held on Sunday November 12 in Killmallock. Ballylanders 2-07 (13) Bruree 1-08 (11). Congratulations Ballyanders. The club’s AGM will be held on Sunday, November 26 at 8pm in the clubhouse. We hope to see a big turnout on the night.
CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK AND BALLYLANDERS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION NEWS
The date for this year’s Ballylanders Christmas in the Park has been confirmed for Sunday, December 3, from 5pm to 7pm.
Ballylanders Development Association are delighted to extend an invitation to the local community to celebrate Christmas in the Park on Sunday December 3. Speaking on behalf of BDA, chairman, Damien Fitzgerald, said this year’s event will build on the success of previous years.
“We are hoping the event will be the official welcome to Christmas in Ballylanders as we will be turning on the tree lights and getting into the festive spirit with local carol singers and Christmas music, mulled wine, a cake sale, music, hot chocolate and all the regular favourites.
“We are waiting to hear back from the North Pole but we have sent a letter to Santy and have asked if he could be there to say hello to all the children. We are hopeful the response is positive but we all know he is a very busy man at this time of year.”
The event is being run by volunteers of Ballylanders Development Association and they can be found online - search Ballylanders Community.
OTHER BALLYLANDERS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION NEWS
The new community building in Ballylanders Park will be finished in time for Christmas. Late last week, Ballylanders Development Association confirmed that the final works on finishing the building will take place in late November and will be completed in time for Christmas.
The contract for works has been awarded to P and L Hartigan Contractors and will start on November 22. A new durable non-slip floor will first be laid in all rooms including the toilets before internal finishes such as electrics, insulation and plastering.
The BDA look forward to making the building available to community and private groups in the new year.

2024 BALLYLANDERS CALENDAR
The presale for the 2024 Ballylanders Calendar will close this Friday night, November 17, 2023. After this date you will not be able to order calendars. After this date we will be printing all the calendars ordered, preparing the ones for postage and getting ready for the local pick up on December 3. Currently over 200 calendars have been ordered and going to 6 different countries across the world. All profits are going to the finishing of the new community space in the village park, which is under the stewardship of Ballylanders Development Association.
Calendars can be ordered on ballylanderscalendar.com before November 17, or you can text 087-2070539 and Máiréad will put one away for you. Calendars will be posted internationally on December 1, or available for local pickup on December 3.
