Great game

- Kilworth Celtic 4 Douglas Hall 1

A superb game of football between two very evenly matched teams in Kilworth and our visitors Douglas Hall.

The game was very evenly contested with both teams playing open and attacking football. The individual skills from both teams were fantastic to see.

The opening goal came after 10 minutes when a superb passing move was crossed in by an in-form Darragh Murphy and was beautifully finished off by Shane O’Donoghue with a first time finish. Douglas struck back with a beautiful low shot right in the bottom corner. A really nice controlled finish.

Into the second half and again Douglas Hall were on the front foot, but Thomas Looney, James Kearney and Cathal Lane kept them at bay. Kilworth scored a second when a ball broke to the edge of the Douglas Hall box and a superb shot from Darragh Murphy flew past the Douglas keeper.

A through ball over the top set Shane O’Donoghue away and he finished for his second of the game. With Douglas Hall now pushing forward to get back into the game, a fourth was scored by

Darragh Casey with a neat finish. The scoreline was not a fair reflection on a game where in reality Douglas were every bit the match of Kilworth. Thanks to Douglas for travelling. We are already looking forward to our next meeting.
