Scoil Pól’s Secret Santa spectacular
On 21st December, Scoil Pól’s Hub students welcomed their families and Scoil Pól staff to their Christmas carol concert and Secret Santa movie premiere.
The day began with the carol concert where the Hub students, led by Ann McGee, treated the audience to their own rendition of Christmas carols. A poem was recited by Davinia Connolly, who also performed a beautiful duet with Nikki Hayes. Well done to all the students for a truly enjoyable performance, it really spread the Christmas cheer to all who attended.
The day continued with the premiere of the Hub Christmas movie. The students worked tirelessly for weeks under the tutelage of Ms Sarah Collins and Mr Sean O’Donnell, who put together a five star production. The movie centres on the age old tradition of Secret Santa and the story begins with the HUB students drawing names and putting their presents under the tree. However, darkness descends when the class realises their presents have been taken!
But the students band together to find the culprit and hopefully… save Christmas. The audience enjoyed the movie immensely and the applause rang through Scoil Pól, Kilfinane.
Special Educational Needs coordinator, Kevin O’Leary remarked: “The Hub Christmas celebration has really become a highlight of the school calendar. It is a privilege to invite parents and teachers to the HUB to showcase all the great work our students have done. It was a great ending to a fantastic term. Huge thanks to Ms Collins and Mr O’Donnell for their expert work with the students and producing an outstanding movie.”
