Ballylanders Macra members hit Killarney!
It was all action in Killarney at the weekend with Macra officer training taking place in The Gleneagle Hotel on Saturday afternoon, followed by the semi-final of Macra Capers held in Killarney Racecourse.
Capers is Macra’s light entertainment competition where clubs put together a short novelty show with singing, dancing and comedy combined. Teams competing on the night were Callan, Fermoy, South Tipperary, Limerick, North Tipperary, Kilmeen and Clare Macra. Ballylanders Macra were out in force to support the Limerick entry with several club members taking part both on and off stage. It was a very entertaining night, but only three clubs could go through and after a lot of deliberation the judges selected Callan, Kilmeen and South Tipperary to go through to the next round in Ovens, Co Cork on February 3rd.
The Limerick Capers team will be taking to the stage again this Friday, January 19th at 8pm in the Ballylanders GAA complex as part of the Ballylanders Variety Show fundraiser in aid of Our Lady’s Day Care Centre. Tickets are available from Day Care committee members and in local shops for what promises to be a very entertaining night.
