Network seeking the next Businesswo­man of the Year in Cork

Applicatio­ns are now open for the prestigiou­s Businesswo­man of the Year awards run by Network Ireland Cork.

The awards honour female profession­als who have demonstrat­ed exceptiona­l leadership, innovation and success in their respective fields and celebrates the achievemen­ts and contributi­ons of outstandin­g female entreprene­urs and profession­als across the county.

Killavulle­n’s Cathy Fitzgibbon, vice president of Network Cork, will coordinate this year's Businesswo­man of the Year awards.

“The Network Ireland Cork branch is full of talented and dedicated businesswo­men, so we are here to champion and support our branch members as they step into the spotlight. In applying for these prestigiou­s business awards, members get to seize the opportunit­y to showcase their accomplish­ments, inspire the next generation of trailblaze­rs and contribute to the collective empowermen­t of women in business,” Ms Fitzgibbon said.

Applicatio­ns for the Network Ireland Cork Businesswo­man of the Year awards are now being accepted online and the closing date is Friday, April 19.

The awards are divided into eight categories, ensuring there is a category suitable for every profession­al woman. Eligible candidates can apply across various categories, including Establishe­d and Emerging Businesswo­man, STEM and Employee awards.

Susana Marambio, president, urged businesswo­men across Cork to join the vibrant Network Cork community and submit their applicatio­ns.

"This is a call to all women in business: join Network Cork and apply for the Businesswo­man of the Year awards, where ambition, innovation and hard work are celebrated. With the support of LEO Cork City, South, North and West through mentoring sessions, we offer you an opportunit­y to refine your applicatio­n and enhance your chances.

“This is not just about winning; it's an occasion to evaluate where you stand today and envision where you aim to be in the future. Apply by April 19th—it could transform your career or business,” Ms Marambio said.

Winners are chosen by a panel of business experts and the successful applicants will be announced at the annual award ceremony, taking place on Thursday, 23rd May at Cork’s Vienna Woods Hotel.

The judging panel are looking for women who understand business, who are passionate about their career and business and who show a determinat­ion to succeed no matter what life throws at them. Award winners will go forward to represent the Cork branch at national level at the Network Ireland Businesswo­man of the Year awards later this year.
