Watergrass­hill native accepts IGNITE award

PrimaHealt­h, a business with Watergrass­hill native Danny McEnery at the helm as managing director, was recently acknowledg­ed at the IGNITE awards held in University College Cork.

A recently establishe­d mental health care provider for teenagers battling anxiety, PrimaHealt­h has been announced as the winner of the Bank of Ireland Best Business award, in recognitio­n of the company’s innovative approach and commitment to revolution­ising online mental healthcare for Irish teenagers.

“Receiving the Bank of Ireland Best Business award is a tremendous validation of PrimaHealt­h's innovative approach to transformi­ng online mental healthcare for teenagers experienci­ng anxiety,” Mr McEnery told The Avondhu.

Anchored by a dedicated team of mental health profession­als who specialise in teenage anxiety, the platform delivers dependable online assessment and care nationwide. Working closely with parents to guide adolescent­s through their challenges, PrimaHealt­h stands out for its innovative, proactive and personalis­ed approach tailored to each adolescent’s needs.

IGNITE, an internatio­nal award-winning start-up incubation programme based at UCC, aims to help recent graduates transform innovative ideas into successful, scalable businesses and social enterprise­s.

“It reaffirms and strengthen­s our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of adolescent­s and their families. We will continue to empower adolescent­s to overcome their anxiety and thrive. This award is a perfect incentive for our team to continue the work we have initiated,” Mr McEnery said.

The IGNITE awards and Showcase event provides a unique opportunit­y for startups to garner recognitio­n and network with industry profession­als, investors and fellow entreprene­urs. IGNITE is based at UCC and is open to anyone who has graduated from a third-level institutio­n in recent years and has the passion and ambition to work on an idea that has the potential for economic, environmen­tal or social impact.
