New Kid on the Block
THE LOWDOWN Being at the heart of the action is often a prerequisite for corporate travellers. Those that way inclined will have no complaints about The Londoner, the latest offering from Edwardian Hotels, which is situated at the southwest corner of Leicester Square in the heart of the capital. The 350-room five-star property (originally scheduled to open in June but now delayed to later this year) should be a star-spotter's paradise, since it incorporates the revamped Odean Leicester Square cinema complex – famed as the venue for UK movie premieres. Touted as the world’s first ‘super boutique’ hotel, it has a muted, contemporary feel, and boasts a ballroom, seven private meeting rooms, a spa with 15-metre swimming pool and gym, two restaurants, a rooftop bar and a barber shop among its various facilities. Business guests will love The Residence – a free member’s club reserved just for guests, with its own whisky bar, cocktail lounge and drawing room.
THAT'S A FACT The Londoner is an ‘iceberg’ hotel – it has eight floors above ground and six below, making it the capital’s deepest basement development.
THEY SAID IT “The Londoner celebrates and captures the drama of its vibrant West End neighbourhood.”
RATES Rooms will start from approx £470 per night.
