MILLSTREET Country Park celebrates 20 years in 2015 and a major revamp of its visitor centre is sure to win widespread approval over the coming months.

To mark two decades, the 500 acre parkland estate has developed additional features and attractions for the family to enjoy outdoors, from exhilarating walks around magnificent lakes and water features, historical sites and trails, themed gardens and natural boglands, and the deer farm to a new culinary experience.

Manager Donie Howard spoke of ongoing features to mark the 20th anniversary. “We’ve refocused with new initiatives, the Park offers miles of walking trails, remarkable gardens and water features, a red deer farm, archaeological sites which date back to the Bronze Age, bicycle trails and safari tours in a new Park Rover”, he said.

Indoors, a selection of food outlets includes the award winning Nibbles Cafe offer a relaxed dining experience while the Willow and Thyme Restaurant focuses on a full bistro style menu. Meanwhile, the Retreat is perfect for small gatherings owing much to its intimate and private surroundings.

The Visitors Centre has now been refurbished in bright, lavish backgrounds and cheerful colours. Outdoors, meanwhile, Get Active is a central theme for the park in 2015. “With designated picnic areas, patrons can take time out, enjoy the wildlife and nature all around and stroll through the herb rich meadows in the Park followed by different culinary options,” said Mr Howard.
