Website launched for County Fleadh Cheoil in Charleville

THE official website of the Cork County Fleadh Cheoil 2016, which will be hosted by Craobh An Rath Charleville was launched last week and is available for viewing online.

The programme for the weekend event, which is on from May 6-8, at 13 venues within the Charleville Park Hotel are outlined in the programme as follows:

Thursday, 5th May 8.00pm - Official Opening at the Charleville Park Hotel

Friday, 6th May 8.00pm - Traditional Concert at Charleville Park Hotel with special guest Sharon Shannon.

Saturday, 7th May 10.00am - Competitions in 13 venues at Charleville Park Hotel 2.00pm Outdoor Street Entertainment in Charleville Town 9.00pm - Céilí at the Charleville Park Hotel, music by the Shandrum / Five Counties Céilí Band. 9.00pm - Pub Session Trail in Charleville Pubs

This is the first major Comhaltas event to be hosted by Charleville’s Craobh An Rath which was founded just five years ago in 2010 when it became to the 27th branch of the Comhaltas in Cork County.

It presently has in excess of 100 members learning Irish traditional music at weekly classes held at the C.B.S. Primary School Hall at Baker’s Road.
