Meelin Mass for deceased priests of the Parish

THE 11am Mass in Meelin on Sunday, November 15, will be offered for all deceased priests who served in the parish of Rockchapel-Meelin, as well as for all deceased priests from the parish who served throughout the world.

Below are a list of priests buried in local church grounds and their year of death.

Priests buried in Meelin church: Fr. Dan O’Keeffe, 1901; Fr. Timothy Crowley, 1933; Fr. Timothy Richardson, 1961; Fr. Michael Ryan, 1985; Fr. Seán O’Connell, 1986.

Priests buried in Rockchapel church grounds: Fr. Philip Cogan, 1882.

Priests buried in Rockchapel cemetery: Fr. J. J.Rice, 1927; Fr. Jerry O’Riordan, 2012; Fr. Jim Browne, 2014

Everybody is very welcome to this Mass. All relatives as well as anybody who knew some of these priests are especially welcome.

Light refreshments will be served in Meelin hall after Mass.

Meanwhile there will be a Remembrance Mass for those who died over the past 12 months offered in St. Mary’s Church, Newmarket at 7.30pm this Friday, November 13.

During the Mass a family member will be invited to come forward to light a memorial candle.
