Meet & Greet goes down a treat at The Corkman
THE Corkman opened the doors of its office at the Spa in Mallow last Thursday afternoon, welcoming dignitaries and special guests from the north and mid- Cork area for a ‘meet and greet’ session with staff and management.
The well-attended event was held to highlight the value of The Corkman as a locally-focused newspaper that serves the needs of urban and rural communities across the North Cork, Avondhu and Muskerry regions.
Representatives from community and voluntary groups, the business sector, the emergency services and local politicians mingled with staff from The Corkman as they forged relationships and caught up with a few familiar faces in the relaxed and convivial atmosphere.
Speakers on the day included INM Regionals West Managing Director John Feerick, Corkman/Kerryman Group Editor Kevin Hughes and Corkman reporters Maria Herlihy and Bill Browne.
Each spoke passionately about The Corkman, how it has been a staple in homes for more than five-decades and how they aim to build on the newspaper’s reputation of ‘ bringing the news to your doorstep’ well into the future.
There were a number of impromptu speeches on the day from guests, including Cllr Timmy Collins and most notably the Mayor of County Cork, Cllr John Paul O’Shea.
All spoke in glowing terms about The Corkman, the people that make it tick and the esteem in which the newspaper is held across the communities that it serves.
