Cork GAA Clubs draw hosted in Freemount
FREEMOUNT welcomed the Cork GAA Clubs Draw with an assortment of attractive prizes distributed.
County board treasurer Pearse Murphy explained how the Cork GAA Clubs Draw commenced in 1992. During it lifespan the draw has been an outstanding success, with the clubs of the county making over a staggering €19 million.
It has enabled the board develop Páirc Uí Rinn in addition to funding coaching and youth development in the county.
“The clubs are fully committed to the draw. It is risk free to the clubs as the Cork County Board funds the prizes and administer costs,” he said.
“Looking ahead to the 25th season, the draw has three aims: investment in games development and coaching, risk free funding for clubs and capital projects support,” he said.
Visitors to Freemount were welcomed by club chairman Michael John O’Regan.
The first prize of a Ford Focus, or €19,000, was won by David and Bridget O’Keeffe from Killeagh.
Elsewhere, North and Mid Cork subscribers fared well.
Sean O’Keeffe, Ballyhooly won a luxury mini-break; Connie Murphy, Blarney; Maurice and Eileen Linehan, Ballyclough; Jamie/Shane/ Adrian Carroll, Kiskeam, Jonathan and Mairead Mullane, Naomh Aban, and Tony O’Keeffe, Newmarket enjoyed €500 each.
Additionally, Denis and Helen O’Brien from Cullen can look ahead to an All Ireland Final weekend, George and Anne Burke Ballygiblin enjoy a Playstation 4 while Niall Fleming and John O’Leary, Ballydesmond and Eamon Coughlan, Kildorrery collect €100.
And from the confined Duhallow members draw, there were €150 vouchers won by Anne O’Flynn, Freemount; Michael Duggan, Kilbrin, Duhallow Junior Board, Roger Casey, Boherbue and James O’Connor, Kanturk.
