Holmes and dried in Blackwater youth darts shoot-out

-

THE Blackwater Valley Youths Darts Competition was held in Kit Roche’s bar in Buttevant last Friday night.

Last year’s winner was Aron Ryan and all eyes were watching to see if he could lift the cup for the second time.

In the first game Danny Linehan played Patrick Holmes. Holmes had an easy excursion winning all three legs.

In the second, Jason Carey did battle with Ciara Haugh, one of the best ladies in dart circles today. It was all square after four legs but Haugh broke through to win a place in the second round.

Defending champion Aron Ryan did battle with Damien Carey and had no problem winning three legs.

Ray Harrington was up against Chris Holmes in the next game and it has to be said that this was one of the faster games on the night with Holmes blistering the board and winning 3-1.

In the next round Patrick Holmes faced Ciara Haugh. Legs were shared equally in this game, which was the best of the night, but in the decider Holmes was the better of the two to win.

The final was a Horgan’s pairing of Chris and Patrick Holmes.

Chris started with a couple of 100s and won the first two legs but Patrick came back, taking the third but Chris went on to win the final three legs and lift the cup.

The club passes on thanks to Kit Roche’s and players for their efforts on the night.
