LAITIARAIN

The Laitiarain Festival and Feis, now into another century, takes place at the local GAA grounds on this Sunday, June 12, commencing at 12 noon with competitions for all age groups in music, song and dance.

Feis Laitiarain was brought forward a number of years ago (this year Laitiarain Sunday is July 24) and since then has thrived with huge numbers in attendance.

It is also an annual family day out with lots of side shows, entertainment, sports, novelty events etc. The local Pipe Band recital is always a big part of the day.

Tradition too plays a huge role with families returning from far and wide to celebrate the event. In the lead up to the day it’s all hands on deck with the erection of marquees and tents to facilitate the side shows and competitions. Pay a visit, it lasts all day, you are sure to enjoy it.

CEMETERY MASSES

The annual Cemetery Mass takes place in Kiskeam Cemetery on Monday evening next June 13 at 7.30pm.

PILGRIMAGE

The Boherbue/Kiskeam parish pilgrimage to Knock Shrine takes place on Wednesday, June 29. Bookings and details from Philomena on 029 716116 or Maura on 716217.
