CHARLEVILLE Soccer Club held their awards night for their under-age teams at the Charleville Park Hotel on last Wednesday evening when the various team managers named their respective players of the year as well as their most improved players over the past season.

The capacity attendance was welcomed by club chairman Kevin Buckley, who said they were here to celebrate and acknowledge the contribution of everybody involved with the under-age teams from 6 years up to 18 years.

“The club was represented by 15 teams in the boy’s competitions and eight in the girl’s competitions,” said Mr Buckley. “In total, eight competitions were won and the trophies are on display here tonight and I congratulate all involved with the teams.”

He also referred to the wonderful facilities available at the all-weather pitch in the Charleville Community Sports Complex, which is located adjacent to their club facilities at Moatville.

He announced that they would be upgrading the club’s own facilities by installing a new lighting system and improving the footpaths around the complex.
