The Corkman

BBC crew out in search for talent and wisdom in Cork

- AMY REIDY

DO you have what it takes to join The BBC’s newest success group?

The broadcaster will search around Cork next week for all-singing, all-dancing performers as well as old-fashioned sages who can offer some traditional advice for a new show called Let It Shine.

The new talent show will be judged by Gary Barlow and presented by Irish native, Graham Norton and Mel Giedroyc.

The show will put together a group who will join the cast of new stage show The Band, which features the music of Take That.

Scouts for the show will be in the Cork area next week and are looking for males from 16 years and older who think they might have what it takes to join the group.

Those interested can visit www.bbc. co.uk/takepart and fill out the application form and can also meet the BBC scouts at the Firkin Crane Dance Studio at 1pm on June 28 with a 90-second song prepared.

The BBC is also in search for locals with significant life experience who could provide insight and advice to others for a new series that looks at bringing traditional wisdom into the lives of everyday individuals.

Producers are currently casting in Ireland and will be heading to Cork in the next few weeks.

Those interested in taking part can contact the casting team at wisewords@ bbc.co.uk for more information.
