Junior minister on hand to present Meelin NS awards
THE people of Meelin certainly don’t do things by halves, and at the national school end of year celebration they had no less than a Minister of State to do the honours! Patrick O’Donovan TD, Junior Minister for Tourism and Sport, who has Meelin roots, was delighted to present the various awards to pupils from all classes but, in particular, to the departing 6th Class, who were honoured for a diverse range of skills and attributes.
The school also acknowledged good attendance as well as the successful boys and girls football, hurling, and camogie teams.
The Junior Entrepreneur Programme saw pupils compiling and publishing a ‘Make and Bake’ recipe book, while various other awards included Communion certificates and graduation medals.
