CORK YOUTH ORCHESTRA TO PLAY MAGICAL CITY HALL CONCERT
THE Cork Youth Orchestra, under the baton of Tomás McCarthy, will bring acclaimed ‘Reflections of Ireland’ show to the Cork City Hall for one night only on Friday.
The concert will be the final one they will play before they head off to represent Ireland at the European Festival if Youth Orchestras in Florence, Perugia and Montecatini.
Patrons can expect a wonderful night as the orchestra preform their entire festival repertoire, including ‘ The Brendan Voyage’ featuring soloist Flaithrí Neff (Uilleann Pipes).

WILLIS CLAN TO BRING THEIR IRISH TOUR TO THE INEC IN KILLARNEY
STARS of ‘Americas Got Talent, The Willis Clan, will bring their high-energy live show to the stage of the INEC in Killarney next Sunday night.
A family of 12 talented musicians, dancers, athletes, writers, and artists from Nashville Tennessee, they merge their Irish roots with other music and dance genres to create a unique blend of the old and new.
Stars of their own reality shown on the US TLC channel, the Clan have recorded two albums, played gigs at venues across the world and won numerous awards since they shot to fame in 2013.

BUSY WEEK AHEAD WITH ECLECTIC MIX OF ACTS LIVE AT THE MARQUEE
IT PROMISES to be a busy week for Live at the Marquee, with a packed schedule of gigs taking place at the Docklands venue over the coming days.
Country star Nathan Carter will play gigs there on Friday and Saturday, with the Irish Queen of rockabilly Imelda May returning to the venue on Saturday.
Girl band Little Mix will play the Marquee on Sunday and Monday, with Indie favourites Foals taking to the stage of the venue next Tuesday with support from All Tvvins.

FRANK O’CONNOR’S STORIES COME TO LIFE ON THE EVERYMAN STAGE
THE play ‘God Bless the Child’, featuring the writings of the late Frank O’Connor, will finish its run at the Cork Opera House on Saturday night.
THE childhood stories of Cork-born O’Connor are universally regarded as being classic of their particular genre.
Three of them ‘First Confession’, ‘My Oedipus Complex’ and ‘ The Genius’ have been brought together under the direction of Patrick Talbot in the play which has been playing to packed audiences this week.
‘God Bless the Child’ is a funny, moving and richly evocative look back at life during the early decades of the 20th century and one of the ‘must see’ shows in Cork this summer.

BACHELORS IN TROUBLE TO HEADLINE FIRGROVE FUNDRAISER
THE hilarious Bachelors in Trouble will be the special guests at a gala fundraiser taking place in Mitchelstown’s Firgrove Hotel next Monday night.
The event, in aid of the Marymount Hospice, will kick off at 8.30pm with dancing to a soundtrack supplied by Dermot Lyons and Batty Prendergast.
The social evening will also include a raffle, an auction and light refreshments.

FERMOY COMHALTAS SEISIÚN RETURNS FOR THE SUMMER
THE popular Fermoy Comhaltas Summer Seisiún will make a welcome return next Monday, with regular music sessions taking place at the Adair Hall each Monday night throughout the season.
The shows will feature performances by a crop of talented local artists and entertainers including John Arnold, Mick Culloty, Peter Lombard and Dave ‘Rookie’ Roche under the direction of Clodagh Lawton. Tickets will cost €5, with no charge for children.
AUGUST WELLS BRING SLICE OF THE BIG APPLE TO COUGHLAN’S LIVE
SEMINAL New York collective August Wells will be back in Cork on Friday night when they take to the stage at Coughlans Live on Douglas Street.
A musical project formed in the Big Apple August Wells was inspired by Ken Griffin and John Rauchenberger, both of who are veterans of the city’s vibrant music scene.
August Wells combine the rich deep lilt of Griffin’s voice with the sublime sound of Rauchenberger’s piano arrangements to create distinctive chamber music injected with the heart and passion of the late Lou Reed.

SNATCH COMEDY BACK AT THE ROUNDY FOR SUMMER SHOWS
THE critically acclaimed Snatch Comedy improv group will return to their home by the Lee next Tuesday for their weekly slot at the Roundy Bar in Cork.
The Snatch team has built up a loyal and dedicated fan-base over the years with their pub weekly slots featuring sketches poking fun at everything from the sublime to the ridiculous.
Audiences can expect the usual chaotic, over-the-top, strange, experimental and spontaneous fun. They will dictate the story lines, the ridiculous scenarios and the nightly tomfoolery.
