Come tune in to the ‘Friends of CRK FM’ in Kildorrery

-

AS a way to get loyal listeners and people from across the community involved in the future of Kildorrery’s community radio station, ‘Friends of CRK FM was launched on Sunday last at the festival.

The community radio volunteers also provided the barbecue on the day and many people signed up to support the community radio service.

CRK FM would like to thank everyone who signed up and to the festival committee for giving them the opportunity to be part of the wonderful family day in Kildorrery on Sunday.

CRK FM was launched in July of last year and ran a very successful 30 day temporary licence every Saturday until last March. The group are now in the latter stages of applying for a 30 day licence and if they are successful they hope to return to the airwaves in September.

The station broadcasts to all communities within a 12 mile radius of Kildorrery and the service relies on the time, dedication and hard work of volunteers.

The Friends of CRK FM campaign allows individuals in the community to be part of the station, in that they can support the service for a donation of €10.

When people sign up to be a friend, they will get text and email reminders about broadcasting hours, a car sticker and will be entered into a Monthly Friends draw from September this year up to April 2017. Anyone wishing to sign up as a friend can do so by filling in the form, which is available at the Community Office and the Post Office in Kildorrery.

CRK FM are always looking for volunteers and those interested can email

mycrkfm@gmail.com, call into the community office or ring 022-25777.
