TEXT ALERT SETUP
At the recent public meeting held in Freemount Community Hall all present signed up to join a ‘Text Alert Network’. Community Alert Development Officer Diarmuid Cronin circulated a consent form to each individual who entered their name, address and mobile phone number. From this Freemount CA will create a Text Alert member sheet and submit these details to ‘Grapevine Communications’ who facilitate this group text process.
These details will be kept in a safe place, and used only for the purpose of the ‘Text Alert Network’. Diarmuid advised as many as possible to join, as this efficient method backed by Garda Management, Muintir na Tíre and the IFA alerts our community immediately when an incident has occurred. In many other areas where this method has been adopted prompt information to Gardaí has deterred criminal activity. Please spread the word to your neighbours and friends who may be interested. Information and consent forms are available by email from freemountca@ gmail.com.
