M’TOWN TRIO SET TO LAUNCH DEBUT EP
IT’S been quite some year for a trio of young Mitchelstown lads whose band has already been tipped by music industry insiders as one to watch for the future.
Despite only forming in April of this year Subject To Change are set to release their self-penned eponymous debut EP on Friday night with a gig in the Yard Bar at Walsh’s Bar in Mitchelstown.
The band, comprised of Scott Fitzgerald, Colin Devaney and Kevin O’Brien, has already been making something of a name for itself after securing a slot at this year’s Indiependence Music and Arts Festival.
As a result the teenagers have claimed the accolade of being both the youngest and most newly formed band to perform at the prestigious festival.
Despite being an unknown entity amid a sea of well-known established bands and artists, the lads took to the stage with a confident swagger, delivering a blistering set that belied their tender years and lack of big stage experience.
The band has already caught the attention of music gurus and fellow artists, with none other than Hudson Taylor joining them on stage during their Indiependence slot.
The lads, who have already earned a modest and faithful local fan base, are hoping the launch of their EP will act as a springboard to even greater things.
“We will be playing one-hour set including all the songs from the EP, which we wrote ourselves, followed by a DJ set,” said Kevin.
“Everyone is welcome to come along and join us. We will also have copies of the EP for sale on the night,” said Scott.
This is a wonderful opportunity to catch the lads in the fledgling moments of their career.
Who knows, maybe one day when the lads have hit the big time, as those in the know have confidently predicted they will, the people who were at the gig will be able to boast that they were there when it all kicked off.
