A SIGNIFICANT number of properties in North Cork are set to come under the hammer at the next Allsop online auction – offering potentially rich pickings for investors with a bit of cash to spare.

A total of six lots from the region will be among the 219 residential and commercial properties to go under the hammer once bidding opens at 8am on Tuesday, September 13.

Arguably one of the most attractive of these in terms of potential return is an extensive mixed-use property with an address a 3-5, O’Neill- Crowley Quay, Fermoy with a reserve price of between €180,000 - €200,000.

Arranged over a ground and two upper floors, the property contains two ground-floor retail units and five overhead apartments.

One of the retail units, trading as Tandoori Kebab, is operating under an informal tenancy with a current rent return if €18,000 per annum. One of the apartments is included in this agreement.

Two of the other flats are unoccupied, while the remaining pair are currently generating a combined annual total of €7,800 in rent.

Another lot that will pique the interest of investors will be one consisting of five adjacent three-bed, semi-detached houses at the An Sraid Bhaile housing estate in Bweeng near Mallow.

The houses, which are described as being “at varying levels of completion”, extend to approximately 102 sq metres and have rear gardens and off-street parking.

Four of the houses are vacant, with the remaining one under a tenancy agreement of €7,200 rent per year.

They are being offered collectively as a single lot with a reserve range of €345,000 - €355,000.

A vacant mid-terrace building at Mallards Way, Main Street, Millstreet will also be up for grabs at the auction with a reserve range of €45,000 - €55,000. The property has been remodelled internally to accommodate three, two-bed and one single bed apartments over the ground and first floors.

A semi-detached, four-bedroom bungalow at Killavalloig on the Mallow Road in Kanturk will go under the hammer in the online auction with a reserve range of between €12,000 - €18,000. The vacant house has a floor space of approximately 72 sq metres and is described as “requiring refurbishment”.

A 0.27 acre site at Kilbrin, Castlecomer Demense close to the local GAA club and with frontage onto Dr Croke Place will be on offer with a reserve price of €8,000 to €12,000.

The final lot of local interest will be a vacant 279 sq metre garage/lock up premises on a 1.11 acre site at Greenhall, Castlecor, Mallow that will have a reserve range of between €35,000 - €45,000.
