Vincent’s shop is relaunched
THE revamped Vincent’s Shop at Keating’s Lane, Charleville was launched before a large attendance and in the presence of John Sugrue, area president, North Cork St. Vincent de Paul Society; Junior Locke, regional vice president, do, and Mark Hussey, regional manager, Vincent’s Shops and Very Rev. Donal Canon O’Mahony P.P. Charleville.
Ian Doyle, the president of the local conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, welcomed everybody to the event which was another milestone for the local conference. He said that all connected with the Vincent’s Centre in Charleville should feel a sense of pride in the development and progress of the outlet which was providing community based facilities for local people. “The Charleville Vincent’s Shop has now joined other such outlets in the region and the new entity will be managed by Mark Hussey,” he said.
He thanked the volunteers who man the shop each day, the people who donate items of clothing, books, toys and ornaments etc., for thinking of and contributing to Vincent’s when disposing of unwanted apparel and other articles. He also thanked the customers for their loyal support since Vincent’s Shop had opened in 2005 and all the people who turned up for the re-launch of the shop.
Mr Doyle also thanked the members of the Charleville Men’s Shed who helped renovate the premises.
Mr. John Sugrue, president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society in North Cork, complimented Ian Doyle and his committee in the conference, along with the staff at Vincent’s shop for their work to help those in need in Charleville and area. He wished them well for the future.
The shop was blessed by Very Rev. Donal Canon O’Mahony, P.P. Charleville, who wished the Vincent’s venture and the work of the Vincent de Paul continued success in Charleville.
