Mallow Community Childcare is one year old!

-

STAFF, Parents, and children at Mallow Community Childcare are delighted to celebrate the Centre’s First Birthday!. This is a not for profit company established in 2015 which provides full day care, sessionaL, and after-school services at Ballyellis in Mallow.

The doors officially opened on 24th August 2015, and it has been a whirlwind ever since. According to manager Dee Moriarty, beginning with an empty building was both terrifying and exhilarating at the same time; “It was scary and so exciting” Dee said, “In my previous years of management I had never had the opportunity to be there from the first day of a service. I felt honoured to take on the task. It was easier with the assistance of the voluntary board of management, (professionals who give up their own personal time to oversee the running of the service) they encouraged me and continue to provide me with lots of support” Dee said.

Mallow Community Childcare is a purpose built facility and this is reflected in the openness and airiness of the rooms, but the most valuable part of the service is our staff. “We are very privileged to have a team who are invested in every part of this service. From the beginning they committed to providing a consistent high quality childcare service, with a progressive curriculum in a nurturing environment. They empower young children to actively pursue their own learning through play” Dee said.

“Every day they come in full of enthusiasm, care, and interest. They are professional at every level and I am proud they are on my team I want to say a big thank you to Aoife, Liz, Lily, Danielle, Aislinn, Cora, Margaret, and Mary you are the A Team!. Thank you to our own families and friends who are roped into digging, collecting, photocopying, designing, and mending, - we are only here due to the endless patience you show us” Dee Moriarty added.

Dee went on to thank the children and families who use the Childcare Centre;

“Most of all we would like to thank our children and families, we are so happy you took a chance on us. Every day you trust to us your most precious possessions, and we do understand how important that trust is. We are so excited about our future together with you and your family as a community childcare team” Dee added.

New Room is added due to expansion

Due to the demands of extending the ECCE programme for Sept 2016, Mallow Community Childcare is opening another room. Dee explained that the Centre was very lucky to achieve capital funding through the DCYA and staff have begun setting up a second pre-school room “The Cool Cats”. Both ECCE rooms open for new term on 31st August 2016.

2016 is now full but we do have a few spaces available for Sept 2017.
