Culture Night in Kanturk

-

FRIDAY, September 16 is Culture Night all over Ireland and the doors of The Daily Grind coffee shop will open at 6.45pm for the performance of a pair of plays by local writers Aidan O’Keeffe and Mary Angland.

Admission is free and seating is allocated on a “first come, first served” basis.

Aidan O’ Keeffe’s play, “The Mill Road Letters”, will be performed first. This play is approximately 60 minutes in length and there is no interval.

The second play of the night, Mary Angland’s “The Invitation”, has a duration of approximately 20 minutes.

The Daily Grind hosted a very successful Sunday afternoon performance by The Clonakilty Jazz Collective during the 2016 Kanturk Arts Festival and it is hoped that this Culture Night event will be every bit as enjoyable.

The local actors performing the plays are John O’Sullivan, Maureen Sheehan, Tim Lynch, Philip Linehan, Teresa O’Keeffe and Martha Keller.

Short plays by local playwrights have helped make the “Night of Drama” a great success during recent Kanturk Arts Festivals.

This performance on Culture Night is an opportunity to see longer pieces of drama from a pair of those playwrights.

The Daily Grind is the perfect venue to enjoy a great night’s free entertainment on Culture Night.
