matched by Cian Clernon and Liam O’Keeffe for Kanturk.

And though Seán Howard and Jack Murphy answered for Dromtariffe, Kanturk held their own through the efforts of Darren Browne, Paul Walsh and O’Keeffe. That allowed for movement, points to Walsh and O’Keeffe earned stalemate at 0-4 apiece.

As the game developed, there was no disputing that Dromtariffe proceeded to perform with a far greater purpose and assurance. And a quick thinking attack got into the flow from points to the Murphys, Evan and Jack with another from Mark O’Connor helped secure a 0-8 to 0-5 grip at the break.

Indeed Dromtariffe turned the screw on the restart, their prospects enhanced on a goal netted by Aaron Daly to forge into a commanding position. Now Dromtariffe’s play became much more assured, goalkeeper Michael O’Brien cool and composed, Denis O’Donoughue, Kevin Cremin and Shane McSweeney came to prominence in a resolute rearguard with Howard and the Murphys willing workers out the field.

That allowed Dromtariffe enjoy a plentiful supply of possession with Jack Murphy and Howard adding points.

In the demanding conditions, Kanturk found it difficult to create inroads and also spurned quite a number of opportunities. Walsh did angle over a point to offer glimpses of a possible comeback. However with both sides tiring, Dromtariffe showed their class to ride out the storm, underlining a clear superiority with Evan Murphy pointing sweetly from an acute angle to book a place in the decider against Robert Emmets or Millstreet.
