the posts. They struck six wides early on before Stephen Condon was on hand to score the first of their three goals in the 13th minute. Brian Gallagher followed with a point soon after that moved them ahead 1-1 to 0-1.

As the half went on the Rovers quickly gained a foothold and some well taken scores by Stephen Condon, Brian Gallagher, Thomas Condon and Padraigh Hannon surged them into a 1-5 to 0-1 lead. In the run up to the break the winners increased their lead when a good delivery by John O’Sullivan was finished to the net by Shane O’Riordan. Shanballymore were dealt a blow soon after when they had a player sent to the line for a second bookable offence. Nevertheless a late rally produced a well taken goal by Paul Burke as Shanballymore trailed at the interval by 2-5 to 1-1.

On the changeover any hopes of a Shanballymore revival were quickly dashed with Shane O’Riordan breaching the Shanballymore defence for his second goal. Aided by the wind in this half Shanballymore improved greatly. They missed a number of chances before Jamie Sheedy with two frees entering the last quarter left six points between the teams.

Harbour Rovers response was swift and points from a free and a ‘65’ by Thomas Condon restored an eight point cushion. Shanballymore battled away. Sean Lynch pointed a long range free. In the closing stages they created a number of goal scoring chances that they failed to convert. However in end their was no denying Harbour Rovers victory with Stephen Condon completing the scoring with a late point.

After the game Conor O’Keeffe on behalf of sponsors Cavanagh’s Fermoy presented the cup to the winning captain Brian Gallagher in the presence of North Cork Board Chairman Barry Aherne. It marked the second double success for clubs within the Division this season with Glanworth/Harbour Rovers capturing the Division 2 FL and Division 1 HL titles while Kilshannig also claimed the Division 1 FL and Division 2 HL titles.
