NEW CD LAUNCHED
Réidh na nDoirí’s Greenshine launched their latest CD, The Girl in the Lavender Dress, at the Corner House, Coburg Street, Cork on Saturday last. Most of the songs on the new album have been written by Mary Greene.
The title song, The Girl in the Lavender Dress reached number one in the ITunes Ireland Singer/ Songwriter chart, another milestone for Greenshine. Míle comhghairdeas to Mary, Noel and Ellie.

SYMPATHY
The death took place recently of Ursula Coakley, Ballincollig and Coppeen. A native of Béal Áthan Ghaorthaidh, the late Ursula was predeceased by her husband, Denis. Interment took place after Requiem Mass in St Joseph’s Church, Castletown Kinneigh.
Sympathy is extended to son John, daughter-in-law Paula and grandsons, Jason and Ryan, Cill Maigh Iaróg. Go raibh grá Dé ar a h-anam.

On Sunday, September 18, a first for Carriganima, when they will have their first Tractor Run, (open to all makes of tractors). Registration for this event will be at midday and the run commencing at 1 p.m. Once again refreshments ceoil agus craic in pub later. Music by Borderline. Monies raised from this event will go towards CART, Carriganima’s well used bus. Come out and enjoy all that will be on offer, Your support will be appreciated by this small but dedicated community.

CLONDROHID DEV GROUP
At the moment this group are carrying out some cutting of hedges, on various roads into the village. Walkers on the Curragh road are no doubt delighted with the visibility. Enjoy.
The council are helping them on the main road through the village. This Group are organising another American Tea Party, to raise funds for the work they carry out. It will take place in the Community Hall on Saturday, November 5. it’s a bit away but mark it in your diary and keep the night free. A great night assured.

Under-16 B Football Championship: on Saturday September 3, Clondrohid travelled to Killeagh to play the home team in championship first round. Availing of wind advantage in the first half and playing good football, Clondrohid lead at half time by six points. Against the wind in the second half a battling performance was needed to secure the win. Final Score: Clondrohid 3-9 Killeagh/St Ita’s 2-7

Clondrohid under-10s travelled to Kenmare to take part in the Mike Maybury Memorial Tournament last Saturday. Clondrohid travelled with two teams one cup team and one shield team. The cup team played four games and the shield team played 5. The boys and girls should be extremely proud of themselves and played some of their best football in their final games. Well done to all involved.
