TOUR OF CEMETERY

Following the success of the last tour and requests for a repeat, another tour has been arranged for Sunday Sept.25th at 3 p.m. The cemetery is located in Newberry townland and not far from the old sugar factory.

The tour will take about two hours and will include a visit into the old Protestant Church where there will be a display of rubbings illustrating the magnificent carvings on some of the old headstones in the cemetery. Many participants at the last tour were amazed at how much local history was associated with some of the people buried there. There are some headstones here going back over 300 years and one most unusual one that is over 700 years old. Contact 086 2579106 for further information.
