Revenue.ie issues defaulters list

A SATELLITE TV installer from Blarney, a tile retailer from Mitchelsto­wn and a publican from Bweeng were among these included on the latest list of tax defaulters issued by the Revenue Service.

Theirs were among a total of 101 settlement­s published for the period covering April 1 to June 30 of this year with a combined total of €17,435,289.49.

Killian O’Driscoll, who was listed as a satellite TV installer with an address at Woodland Park, Waterloo, Blarney made a settlement totalling €192,576 in relation to the under declaratio­n of VAT arising out of a revenue audit case.

The payment consisted of €93,484 in tax and combined interest and penalties of €99,092.

Dominic Ryan a tiles and tiling tool retailer with an address at Croughevoe, Mitchelsto­wn made a settlement of €67,444.10 in relation to the under declaratio­n of VAT arising out of a revenue audit case.

The payment consisted of tax totalling €41,227 and combined interest and penalties of €26,217.10.

Joanna Monika Gadja, a publican with an address at Bweeng, Mallow paid over the total sum of €55,254 following a revenue audit case into the under declaratio­n of income tax and VAT.

The payment consisted of €39,329 in tax and €15,925 in combined interest and penalties.

Of the 101 published cases, 42 were for amounts exceeding €100,000 eight of which exceeded €500,000 and two of which topped the €1 million mark.

Three of the 101 settlement­s related to Revenue investigat­ions into offshore assets/funds, yielding a total of €1.37 million.

The Revenue also published the names of two people from the North Cork area who were prosecuted in court for the illegal selling of cigarettes.

Elaine Finn with an address at Linden Hall, Mitchelsto­wn was prosecuted and fined €2,500 as was Arron Lynch with an address at the The Manor, Clondulane, Fermoy.
