Gavin Carey followed with a point and the lead was 2-7 to 1-4.

Michael Fresh made some daring runs from the half backline up field in search of scores. He was fouled a number of times. Fresh and Dylan McAuliffe swapped a point with Buttevant holding a comfortable lead. By the 50th minute they led 2-10 to 1-7.

Michael O’Neill completed the winners tally in the 53rd minute. Buttevant keeper Diarmuid Doody made a very good save following a four man Killavullen attack.
