LISCARROLL
LISCARROLL AC
Sunday last saw the running of the Cork Evening Echo Ladies Mini Marathon. The weather on Saturday was indicating that it was going to be on the wet side, but as it turned out conditions were perfect with only a short shower of rain an hour into the race. Annually this race is a great money earner for the Cork County Athletics Board and hundreds of charities. Over 7,500 women took part in a very enjoyable race. Some of our members took part but results will not be available for a numbers of days. Also members helped out at stewarding as usual.
On this weekend, Cork County Board will be organising the Cork Airport 5km run. Anyone interested in taking part should be at the Airport before midnight on tomorrow Friday night, even though the race will not start until 2am Saturday morning.
Free car parking will be available at the Airport for participants. Competitors and stewards are reminded that the race is on this Friday night/Saturday morning.
