Berrings’ ‘fine young things’ unveil plans for their 60th birthday bash

-

BERRINGS Macra na Feirme club has unveiled plans for their 60th anniversary dinner dance. On the road since 1957, Berrings Macra has played an integral role in the life of the parish of Inniscarra since its foundation. The club has continued to go from strength to strength and is still a key organisation within the parish, 60 years later. The club currently has a wide range of members with age profiles scanning from 17 to 35 and from all different walks of life with teachers, students, radiographers and farmers to name a few. With activities including carol singing, entertaining senior citizens, sports nights and debating there’s never a dull moment. Berrings has also been busy getting involved at a community level. Over the past year mem- bers have actively participated in and organised charity fundraising events for local, national and international charities. Club weekends away contribute to the camaraderie within the club, with a home- cooked Macra family dinner being one of the highlights of any weekend. The anniversary dinner dance will take place on January 21, 2017 in the Blarney Hotel and Golf Resort. On the night a four course meal will be served followed by music by ‘ The Laughing Shamrocks’. Tickets are now officially on sale – with the first opportunity to purchase coming this Thursday night when the club meets at the Wayside Bar, from 8.30pm. Needless to say, a great night is guaranteed.
