Action packed weeks for Mallow camogie ladies

-

IT has been an action packed couple of weeks as Mallow camogie seniors qualified for a play-off against Clonakilty with the winner playing Kilbritian/Timeoleague in the county quarter final.

The girls came through the Clonakilty game on the right side with a great victory on such a horrific night, Mallow 6-6 Clonakilty 2-5, with the county quarter final to follow.

Last Saturday Mallow senior ladies took on league finalist Kilbritian/Timeoleague in the county quarter final, an extremely tough physical game but that did not bother the Mallow ladies. From Bronagh Ganley in goals right up to corner forward Kathleen O’ Brien along with the subs all the girls performed well bringing the intensity and work rate with them.

The final score Mallow 6-3 Kilbritian/Timeoleague 0-09.

Next up is Eire Og in the county semi final this Sunday with throw in at 4.30pm with the likely venue being Castle Road.

The minors have unfortunately been knocked out of championship as they played Fr O’Neills last week, a great team performances with some great passages of play but unfortunately the girls just came up short in the end.

The club would like to extend best wishes to dual players Brid O’Sullivan and the two Coakleys, Kathyrn and Emma, who line out with Mourneabbey this Saturday evening the County Senior final. Also best wishes to the intermediate hurlers as they contest the league final against Ballinhassig on Saturday.
