WELL done to the Newmarket Ladies Football Junior team who qualified for the county final after beating Kildorrey.

Kildorrey strongly and scored the first four points of the game. However, Newmarket soon took control to ensure they lead at half time 2-8 to 0-4.

Newmarket maintained control throughout the second half to win out 4-15 to 2-8. They will now face Banteer in the final, date and venue to be confirmed.

The team was: Karen Gillman, Lauren Flanagan, Marie Brosnan, Emma Newman, Lisa Gillman, Ciara O’ Sullivan, Orla Hayes, Eimear Murphy, Ciara Quilter, Chloe Cottrell, Deirdre O’ Reilly, Katherine McCarthy, Carmel O’ Reilly, Emma Fitzgerald, Caoimhe Meehan, Sinead O’ Sullivan, Niamh Murphy, Elaine Daly, Sinead Daly, Aishling McQuade, Patricia O’ Keeffe, Claire Meehan, Christine Collins, Brenda Hourigan, Theresa O’ Keeffe, Megan Culloty and Alanna Culloty,

Hard luck to our under 14s who lost out to a strong Killavullen team in the North Cork final. The team was: Emma Brosnan, Victoria Cottrell, ava Joyce, Maria McSweeney, Alison Murphy, Shannon O’Donovan, Clodagh O’Keeffe, Siobhan O’Keeffe, Breda Sheahan, Amy Walsh, Leanne Browne, Eadaoin Goggin and Emma Lynch.

Congratulations to our own Deirdre O’Reilly for her recent All-Star nomination, after a fantastic season where she helped Cork Ladies win their sixth All-Ireland title in a row and their eleventh in twelve seasons.
