HISTORIC GRAVES

The website historicgraves.com contains exact transcriptions of the headstones in hundreds of old graveyards throughout Ireland and is free to search.

1-Open website and click on ‘search’ – ’graveyard search’,-enter – graveyard name – Ireland, and apply,

Two – Click on relevant name at bottom of page to open it. Clicking on the I D number of a headstone will reveal a photo and inscription of that headstone. By moving cursor over the photo an enlarged image appears.

3-Name search-click on ‘search’ again and then on ‘family search’. Enter name and apply. Recorded graveyards containing that name will appear on a map.

4-Finding a Headstone – Each graveyard has a sketch plan listed on the first page and opening this reveals a plan of the location of each headstone within that graveyard.

5-Newberry, Abbeyswell, Kilpadder, Glantane Churchyard are completed and Bweeng and Glantane are in progress.
