108 HOUSE PLAN FOR MALLOW

- BILL BROWNE

A PLANNING application has been lodged with Cork County Council seeking permission for the construction of more that 100 new houses at the Clonmore estate in Mallow.

The application, submitted in the name of the O’Flynn Construction Co Ltd, makes provision for a total of 108 new dwelling houses at the Ballyvintner development.

These will bring the number of houses at Clonmore, which was built by O’Flynn Construction in the mid 2000’s, to 300.

If given the all-clear the new batch of homes will consist of 100 three and four bed semi-detached units; five, three and four bed detached units and three terraced houses. It will also include a 380sq metre single/two story crèche with 11 parking spaces and associated works.

All of the proposed new phase will be accessed through the existing completed section of the housing development.

The final element of the plan will see the provision of a 1.2cm diameter culvert leading to an open water course which is to be provided in lieu of the existing pipework’s along the western boundary of the site.

A second application lodged by O’Flynn Construction makes further provision for the construction of a 900mm diameter drainage culvert through the existing Clonmore development.

Council planners have set a date of Tuesday, January 31 for decisions on both applications.
