Submission period for draft local area plans extended to 16/01/2017
THE public consultation period for the eight Draft Municipal District Local Area Plans has been extended up to 4pm on Monday, 16th January 2017.
The public, community groups and other stakeholders are encouraged to get involved in the plan making process by making a submission outlining their views on the future development of their community, before the extended public consultation period closes. Submissions can be made in writing to the Council or online through the Submissions Page on the Council’s webpage, www.corkcoco.ie.
Cork County Council has prepared a Draft Local Area Plan for each of the eight Municipal Districts which comprise Cork County. The new Municipal District Local Area Plans will replace the ten Electoral Area Local Area Plans 2011 currently in force.
The new Local Area Plans when adopted will also incorporate and update where appropriate the land use zoning maps and associated policy objectives of the Town Development Plans adopted by the former Town Councils of Cobh, Clonakilty, Fermoy, Kinsale, Macroom, Mallow, Midleton, Skibbereen and Youghal.
The Draft Local Area Plans may be inspected by the public, each working day, (exclusive of public holidays), between 9.30 a.m. and 4p.m. at the following locations:
* Planning Department, Floor 1 County Hall, Cork.
* Planning Department, Norton House, Cork Rd., Skibbereen.
* Cork County Council Divisional Office at Annabella, Mallow.
* County Library and Branch Libraries - Please check your local library regarding opening times and availability of PCs for accessing electronic format.
* Online at http://corklocalareaplans. com/ at all times.
If you have any queries with regard to the policy content of the documents, you can contact the Planning Policy Unit at 021 4285900.
Submissions or observations are invited from the public or interested parties, in relation to the Draft Local Area Plans and will be taken into consideration prior to the making of the Local Area Plans. Children, or groups or associations representing the interests of children, are entitled to make submissions or observations on the Draft Local Area Plans.
On the basis that it is proposed to include the former Town Council administrative areas within the Local Area Plan review, parties with an interest in the proper planning and sustainable development of the former Town Council administrative areas (including persons with an interest in specific lands) should consider the need to make a submission to the County Council as part of this consultative process.
Cork County Council has provided a system whereby submissions with associated attachments can be made online by the public and interested parties through www.corkcoco.ie. However, submissions made by e-mail cannot be accepted.
Written submissions or observations should be forwarded to arrive on or before Monday 16th January, 2017 (4pm) to: The Senior Planner, Cork County Council, Planning Policy Unit, Floor 13, County Hall, Cork.
The intention is to complete the making of these plans before the end of July, 2017.
