New Cancer Connect transport service

-

CANCER Connect Transport to Cork is seeking voluntary drivers for the new Cancer Connect Service which they are hoping to commence shortly.

It is a free and flexible transport service bringing passengers from North Cork to Cork for cancer treatment on a daily basis.

Volunteers are asked to give about one day a month. A vehicle will be supplied by Local Link Cork for radiotherapy passengers who are collected at designated pick up points along the route of Rockchapel, Newmarket, Kanturk, Banteer, Nadd, Donoughmore Cross etc.

If possible, a chemotherapy service will also be introduced. This involves an individual using his/her own car, bringing a passenger to Cork and then home again. Cancer Connect will contribute towards the cost of fuel.

If you or anyone you know might be available to join the team please contact Steve on 027-52727 or 0871224404. If you would like further information or you wish to travel with the scheme contact Steve, you can email info@cancer connect.ie. THIS week sees the culmination of many weeks of auditions, rehearsals, set designing, costume-making etc. as the students of Scoil Mhuire take to the stage for three performances of the much loved musical ‘ The Sound of Music’.

‘ The Sound of Music’ was and still is the most successful musical production ever made.

Performances will be on Wednesday 14th, Thursday 15th and Friday 16th December. Tickets are priced at €10. Best of luck to all involved in the production.
