‘We’re going to have an amazing Christmas’ says lucky Lotto family

Were they not keeping their win private, you need only ask the family who realised everyone’s Christmas dream in winning €101,947 on the Lotto Match 5 plus Bonus prize recently.

They are now preparing for one ‘amazing Christmas’ free from any trace of money worries for once. Though they remain anonymous all in Innishannon and surrounds are thrilled to bits for them .

“With Christmas just around the corner, there couldn’t have been a better time to win this prize,” said the delighted father.

The good fortune comes on the back of a Quick Pick ticket bought at the Gala Store in Innishannon - on the very day of the draw on Wdensday, Novermber 30.

“We’re going to have an amazing Christmas and for once, not worry about the money!” said the beaming mother.

“After that, all of the money will be set aside for the kids for their college expenses over the next couple of years,” she added.

When the family scooped the prize, they admitted that they weren’t sure how much they had won. “I had the ticket in my wallet for nearly a week before we checked it. When I had it checked in the shop, I was still unsure of how much we had won. We called the Lottery and I thought I might have won just over a thousand euro...We just could not believe it when we were told we had won over €100,000!’ said the winning husband.
