Positive atmosphere sets the scene for a great Christmas in Fermoy

-

“EVENTS like this evening are about creating a feelgood factor and I hope everyone really enjoys the occasion.”

So said Cllr Noel McCarthy – chairman of the Fermoy Christmas Lights Committee – at the turning on of this year’s lights.

And as the lights went on the feelgood factor certainly turned up a notch or two also – and when Santa turned up … well, things are only getting better in Fermoy.

Cllr McCarthy said Fermoy was really looking forward to the Christmas celebrations. “The next couple of weeks are vital for everyone in business and, hopefully, people will decide to shop local and ‘put Fermoy first’.

“I think the town is looking really well and tonight’s ceremony has helped project a very positive image of the town. If we keep working together we can go places,” added Cllr McCarthy.

Indeed, Fermoy really does hit the spot when it comes to buying those Christmas gifts as the town boasts top quality goods, value for money and plenty of choice for the discerning shopper.

Fermoy certainly has something special when it comes to finding those somewhat unique goods, all served with a smile and friendly service and plenty of parking friendly stores to boot.

Local pharmacies have a range of beautiful toiletries for the festive season and all shops will be offering great deals, particularly when it comes to food and groceries for the Christmas Day meal.

And while the shopping may take its toll on the feet, why not call in to some of the local bars for a Christmas drink or lunch or dinner with family and friends over the festive season.

There may even be time for a make over at the local salon, that’s after those clothing and footwear presents have been selected and bought nearby - all ready for wrapping ahead of Christmas morning.

Meanwhile, for the more indecisive, why not buy a gift voucher in the gift recipient’s favourite shops?

Fermoy is also a perfect spot for a short break ahead of the hustle and bustle of the Christmas rush

Safe in the knowledge that you’re supporting local business, Fermoy is surely the place to shop this Christmas season.
