St Colman’s taken to extra-time in Harty Cup win

For the second half Colman’s moved Brian Roche to corner forward with Barry Murphy going to the ‘40’. Diarmuid Linehan stretched the winners lead with a pointed free. Ross Hayes landed a long range pointed free for Flannan’s. Brian Roche followed with a very good point as Colman’s went 1-10 to 0- 9 clear. Good play by Adam Creed led to a great goal by Barry Murphy in the 36th minute 2-10 to 0- 9. The Fermoy side lost their way having only one point in a fifteen minute period. St Flannan’s had a goal in the 44th minute when Gearoid Cahill soloed through and picked out Tom O’Rourke who netted 2-11 to 1-12. In the 46th minute St Flannan’s hit the front when a long range free by Ross Hayes was gathereed by Tom O’Rourke who placed Sean Meaney for the lead for the first time 2-12 to 2-11. St Flannan’s on a roll added a fine point by Gearoid Cahill. St Colman’s had three wides in quick succession. In the 50th minute Tom O’Rourke opened up a three-point lead from a free. Brian Roche replied for Colman’s In the 55th minute when Tom O’Rourke pointed another free. St. Flannan’s seemed destined for the knockout stages ahead 2-15 to 2- 12.

St Colman’s had a defender sent off for a second yellow in the dying moments. There was an exchange of a point with Colman’s forcing an injury-time free by Diarmuid Linehan that found its way to the net and sent the game to extra time.

In extra time St Colman’s dominated. At half time in extra time Colman’s led 3-18 to 2-18. The Fermoy side had their 4th goal by Barry Murphy and there was an exchange of points. Time ran out and St Colman’s are through to the last 8.
