This Friday night December 16 Christmas Dance in aid of CART, will take place in the East Ave Hotel in Killarney. 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Country Roads, and 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. Peter Lane and the Blackwater Sound, with special guest ‘Big Maggie’ Everyone welcome contact any committee member. This Sunday, December 18, the big man himself ‘Santa’ will arrive in Carriganim­a at 3 p.m. Loads of surprises, family day out.

On Friday, December 23, there will be a card night, should be good. On St Stephen’s night Liam Cantillon will have everyone taking to the floor. On Wednesday, December 28, the now famous ‘Murphy Nite Out’ with the Hillbillys. Cant be missed. On New Years Eve with Danny Creedon, and January 6 Women’s Christmas, the Christmas draw will take place and the Rambler will have all the women ‘bopping’.

The annual Glenmill Christmas party took place on Thursday last December 8, as usual everyone was catered for, great food, drink, craic, Danny Golden excelled himself, and he wasn’t short of singers or dancers. Well done to Nora Michael and all the staff.

The group would like to wish all in Clondrohid Parish a very happy, peaceful Christmas, and every good wish for 2017. A big ‘Thank you ‘to Johnny, Eugene, and everyone who helped them over the past year. Hope to see you all at the Christmas/New Year Party on January 22.

The Crib and Christmas Tree was erected during the week and a lovely blessing ceremony was performed by Fr Wickham last Saturday night after the 7.30 p.m. mass. The Youth choir performed beautifull­y around the tree. The group would like to thank all who helped them to prepare for this event.

The group would like to extend their sympathies on behalf of the parish to all those who have suffered a bereavemen­t or personal loss over the last year. Well wishes go to those who are ill at home or in hospital especially at this time of the year, and to all those who care for them. Always be alert to strange vehicles and movements in the area and heed your text alert messages.

MACROOM PLOUGHING

The annual Ploughing Match will be held on the lands of Pat and Nora Casey, Curraghawa­ddra, Aghinagh on Sunday, January 1, 2017. A great day out for all the family, and all are welcome to spend time in the hospitalit­y tent. Usual classes, all local ploughmen and women are welcome. Results and music by autumn Gold in Coolcower House that night.
