Johnny Cash lookalikes to convene on Kilcorney
A NIGHT not to be missed celebrates the music of The Man in Black, the one and only Johnny Cash, at a special charity hosting in Moll Carthy’s Bar, Kilcorney on Friday, January 20 commencing at 8pm.
A towering figure in American music spanning country, rock and folk, Cash and his songs have become an institution right around the globe. As one of the most influential musicians of all time, he has inspired a whole generation of people with his incredible songs.
Even the great Wayne Rooney of Manchester United fame delved into the songs of the great man, performing ‘Folsom Prison Blues’ in an Irish bar in New York during a summer break.
Closer to home, fans of Cash have the perfect opportunity to parade their talents in a staging promoted by Kilcorney Community Association with all proceeds donated to Cancer Connect.
Organisers promise classics from “Ring of Fire” to “Jackson” will echo across the valleys of Kilcorney. Special guests will perform the best known Johnny Cash songs.
Excellent prizes are on offer for the best Johnny Cash performance.
Not to be outdone, the ladies can vie for the ‘ best June Carter’ accolade.
And knowledgeable folk can seek out the honours in the Johnny Cash Table Quiz.
One stipulation for patrons is everyone must wear something black on the night. Yes the Johnny Cash Experience in Kilcorney is sure to both move and exhilarate fans; his legacy sure to be recalled, just ask “A Boy named Sue”!
