THERE is the much fancied 50/50 option for the flumoxed contestant­s who like the look of the audience. And of course there’s the phone a friend option. All of this can mean only one thing, – the famed ‘Who wants to be a Thousandai­re.’

Colaiste Mhuire in Buttevant recently launched, ‘Who wants to be a Thousandai­re’ which will take place at the Charlevill­e Park Hotel next month.

Principal, Donal O’Sullivan said: “A fun and thrilling night is promised along with a chance to win money. We are extremely excited about the show. We are hoping that it will be a brilliant community event where everyone from Buttevant and the surroundin­g communitie­s will gather for an evening of great fun.”

The show, which is hosted by Pallas Marketing, is attracting large audiences all over Ireland and Buttevant will be no different. On the night of their show on Friday, February 17, eight lucky contestant­s will be drawn exclusivel­y from the audience to have the opportunit­y of playing for a prize of €1,000.

Naturally, there will be fun but equally so nail-biting questions, cliff-hangers and of course the chance for eight lucky individual­s to potentiall­y walk away with €1,000 each. Ticket sales were launched last Wednesday night by Cllr John Paul O’Shea (Ind) who also purchased the first ticket for the show.

He said: “‘Who wants to be a Thousandai­re’ is a fantastic idea as it is based on an exciting game show formula, it means that everybody will be familiar with it and nobody will be a loser.”
