Get 24 hour access to Cork County Council

- KENNETH KELLEHER

A NEW online customers portal initiative by Cork County Council, ‘Your Council’ is offering a wide range of services 24 hours per day.

The first service of its kind provided by a local authority, ‘Your Council’ will serve to complement the existing range of options available in contacting the County Council and is a key development in their customer enhancement programme.

This new website allows people the opportunity to apply for various services online such as dog licenses as well as allowing people to register to vote. People also now have the ability to submit ideas and suggestions to the Council on how to improve existing services or to suggest new ideas for issues that may not be addressed.

Additionally, this easy to use online website allows people to request pre planning application meetings with relevant area planners to address any issues you may feel are pertinent to your planning application.

People can also apply for a new community fund scheme on this service under three different categories, the Municipal District Fund Scheme, the Municipal District Community Contracts and the Municipal District Amenity Fund Scheme. Cork County Council, through the Municipal Districts, have stated their commitment to supporting local communities and community groups and local organisations wishing to undertake development projects in their area, to support festivals, and for local communities to work with Cork County Council on local projects to enhance the area where the group is active. The closing date for the applications is Friday, February 17. Anyone can apply for this scheme and a selection of other services at www.yourcouncil.ie.
