Positions now filled for Macroom Juvenile GAA

MACROOM GAA Juveniles achieved the Rebel Óg Silver benchmark in December 2016 and is busy making preparations for the coming season. Meanwhile, the new committee held its first meeting and finalized many key positions. Officers for 2017: These are Chairperson - James Duggan, Secretary - Diarmuid Holland, Treasurer - Catherine Cahill, Membership Officer - Elaine Kiernan, Cúl Camp Co-ordinator - Bríd O’Riordan and Coaching Co-ordinator – John Ryan.

Managers/Selectors: U6 - Jeremy Kelleher, U8 - Shane Dunne, U9 - Chris Donovan, U10 - Tony O’Sullivan, U12 - Stephen Moore, U14 - Mark O’Sullivan, U16 - Patrick Goold. Mark O’Sullivan will have as co-selectors Seamas Coughlan (Domie), Catherine Cahill, John O’Leary, Pat Kelleher and Tony O’Sullivan.

Registration for 2017 will take place in the pavilion on Friday, February 3 from 7pm and it is planned that club representatives will visit the local school beforehand.

Club PRO Rory Buckley is to set up a WhatsApp group. Each team will supply him with weekly activities before 10pm on a Monday and this information will be published on Facebook the following day.

Meanwhile, winter training continues. For most groups the outdoor season will begin in March and will continue until October.

Coaching workshops will be organized throughout 2017. Plans are also in train to organise a table quiz as last year’s event was enjoyable and profitable.
